The second planet from the Sun and the warmest of our solar system (together with Jupiter's satellite, Io). It is covered with a thick atmosphere, which warms the surface as if it were a green house interior. Venus is so similar to Earth that it is very often referred to as Earth’s ‘twin sister’.
